Dr. Bingham Newman has been a practicing therapist in Claremont since 1982. Her practice focuses on children, ages 2-12, families and individuals. There are many things that children encounter in today’s world that are puzzling, scary and not readily understandable. Whether this results in unmanageable behavior at home, school or with peers, these problems can be alleviated with the right kind of support. She fully believes in the great resiliency of children and families. When working with children she works closely with the parents who must be the ultimate support of the child.
Dr. Bingham Newman uses play therapy with children and adults in her practice and she is specially trained in the use of Sand Trays. Play therapy helps children express what is troubling them when they cannot say their thoughts and feelings in words. It allows them to safely address and resolve their problems.
She offers special support groups for parents who are separating or divorcing to help them communicate better, reduce conflict between the parents and help them keep their children out of the middle of the divorce. This program is called Parents’ Turn-Cooperative Co Parenting and follows a workshop format.
Dr Ann is a founding member of the Collaborative Divorce Professionals of the Inland Empire (CDPIE) which is a practice group comprised of Attorney's, Mental Health Professionals, and Financial Specialists who work together as teams to help families through divorces.
